THE MISSION

and Continue Your Service at LACP

Deputy Probation Officers supervise and mentor at-risk youth and adults across LA County — in residential facilities, in the field, and in courtrooms. You'll develop rehabilitation plans, provide crisis intervention, enforce court orders, and hold people accountable while giving them a real shot at turning their lives around.
This isn't desk work. It's structured, high-stakes, people-first work that demands the same discipline, judgment, and composure you built in service.
LACP is the largest probation department in the United States — 5,200+ professionals, two-thirds of whom are sworn peace officers. You'd be joining a team with the scale to make a lasting impact and the mission to back it up.
